Join Horses with Humans
In Horses with Humans, I'm sharing my horse training experiences so that other riders and horse lovers can see the challenges and successes in each small step along the way.
It's free for the first 7 days, then £10 per month, which helps towards the cost of making the videos and maintaining the community.
How Can We Make a Difference in the World of Horse Training?
I have long wanted to improve the way that the majority of horses in the world are trained and ridden.
With the horses that I train and sell, I want potential buyers to have more understanding and empathy to the way the horse thinks and feels whilst being ridden and handled.
Giving potential buyers and new owners access to the training videos, helps them know the specific way each horse has been trained.
Horses are being trained and retrained their whole life. The training is never done, they will learn something new whether you want them to or not!
The only way for things to change is for trainers to show the way and get people thinking how they would like to do this for themselves and their own horses!
What We Do?
Individual
We look at each horse as an individual. What is his temperament and personality?
What is his experience in the human world?
Training
The inital stage of each horse's training is like a test.
What can he do? What does he find difficult? What does he find easy?
We tailor his training to his level and at his speed.
Methods
Our training methods are R- and R+ depending on the horse's previous experience or needs. Understanding each step before we progress is vital to keep the horse wanting to train with us - the most important element!
Knowledge Through Exposure
The more we see, the more we learn.
